Taco Night is a staple to tons of households, so why don’t we make it a healthier by using ground turkey meat instead of beef and make our own seasoning! Put this on a taco, burrito, taco salad OR even stuff your peppers with it using my Taco Stuffed Peppers recipe!
Turkey Taco Meat
A healthier alternative to your traditional beef tacos that are sure to be yummy and full of flavor. If you like a little extra spice you can even mix in some salsa, hot green chiles or chopped jalapeños. Put this mixture on your taco shells, lettuce wraps, stuff peppers with it, make nachos...the possibilities are ENDLESS!

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey meat thawed
- 2 tsp minced onion
- 1 tsp cumin
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- ¼ tsp oregano
- 4 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp flour
Instructions
- Start off by browning your turkey meat. This should be medium-high heat and take around 8-10 minutes.
- Once the turkey meat is browned, then drain out the excess water and place back on the stove on medium-low heat.
- Add all of your spices and hot sauce, then give your meat a mix.
- Mix in the water followed by the flour. Cook the meat for an additional 2 minutes or until all the flour is gone. Enjoy your taco night!
Notes
You can top it off with some low-fat cheese and sour cream.
