Top 15 of my Favorite Foods You Need To Try On Your Next Disneyland Trip

When at Disneyland, it may feel like you are in Foodieland with all of the yummy foods around you! Here is my guide on the best foods you have to try on your next trip to Disneyland.

1. Jolly Holiday Bakery

The Jolly Holiday Bakery is the best and if you are lucky you might get to see Mary Poppins giving a visit! There are many treats to try here but one of my favorites is the Matterhorn Macaroon. It is for anyone out there who is a lover of coconut!

2. Tropical Hideaway

The Tropical Hideaway is just behind the Tiki Room! It has tons of versions of dole whip and is especially great if you don’t want to have to mobile order or wait for pineapple whip on the other side. From left to right in these pictures, starting with the first picture is the sweet lumpia. It is filled with a sweet pineapple mixture and cream cheese then served with a pineapple dipping sauce. This is probably my favorite item here and I am obsessed! I first had a version of this in Disney World inside the land of Avatar and was so happy that it go brought here. On the second picture, we have the traditional pork lumpia. These were really good, but I would say the flavor is more-so similar to an egg roll. It is filled with pork and vegetables as well as served with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Lastly, we tried the loco moco bao bun which might actually have been a limited offering, but is filled with ham, ground beef, egg and served with a mushroom gravy. This was pretty good, but I like traditional BBQ pork bao a lot better! You are in luck because they do serve a char siu bao all year round.

3. Ice Cream Cart

The ice cream cart is always a must when going to Disneyland. They are all around the park and offer a wide variety of ice cream! I alway get the Mickey ice cream bar and maybe some popcorn from the popcorn cart to go with it!

4. Harbour Galley

These are amazing and we always crave them now that we are not at Disneyland anymore (hmmm…maybe I will try to make a copycat recipe? Stay tuned!). It is a delicious lobster mix with onions and celery all atop of a buttered roll and topped off with chives. You even get a bag of chips with it and honestly it is so good to dip them into the lobster mix. Yep, it really is all that and a bag of chips!

5. Hungry Bear

Hungry Bear is such a great place to eat with the entire family since it is not overly pricey and has a little bit of everything including burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and funnel cakes! The funnel cakes at Hungry Bear are always the best. This one was a Honey Funnel Cake with honey, honey-citrus sugar, honey gelato and honey combs cereal. It was DELICIOUS.

6. Tiki Juice Bar

The Tiki Juice Bar is classic, especially if you are catching the Enchanted Tiki Room show. There is nothing better than grabbing a pineapple whip or float and watching all of the birdies sing! This is mobile-order only currently so if you are not wanting to do mobile order then I would head over to the Tropical Hideaway.

7. Red Wagon

This is by far the BEST place to get a corndog in all of Disneyland. The breading is delicious, crispy and hot. It is also all of that and a bag of chips! Lays chips and a corndog is the best combo. This cart is found at the end of Mainstreet on the right and usually always has a line, but for a good reason.

8. Bengal Barbecue

Bengal BBQ is such a good place to eat and it has healthier alternatives from grilled veggies, rice, chicken and more. The top picture is the Bengal rice plate which includes 2 skewers of your choice, rice and amazing slaw. I tried the Chieftain Chicken skewer and Bengal Beef skewer. We also got a tiger tail bread which is pictured to the left. It is a garlic, herbed and sharp cheddar breadstick. Finally, to the right is the jungle julep! I enjoyed this slushy drink full of grape, pineapple and citrus flavors.

9. Pooh Corner

Located at the exit of the Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh, is a shop with an array of sweets and merchandise. This is the tigger tail which is a caramel-covered marshmallow stick covered in an orange-flavored white chocolate and chocolate tigger stripes. It is delicious, especially if you love orange and chocolate together. They have so many other treats there that you have to check out!

10. Trader Sam’s

Downtown Disney is home to some of the best restaurants and this is one of them! Trader Sam’s is a fun tiki bar that is themed after Adventureland. Not only does it serve delicious tropical cocktails, but it also has amazing Hawaiian food! I got the Pu Pu Platter which is the PERFECT item to get if you have never been here before. It has an amazing array of food including gyoza, macaroni salad, fried green beans, sweet and spicy chicken wings as well as a sriracha aioli. The two drinks I got were the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum (on the left) and the HippopotoMai-Tai (on the right). The Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum has coconut rum, pineapple, orange and cinnamon and nutmeg atop of it! The HippopotoMai-Tai usually comes in a hippopotamus mug but they were out and allowed me to trade it for the Trader Sam’s mug! You get to take the mug home at an additional cost. The drink itself was a typical mai tai but honestly my favorite mai tai that I have ever had because of how strong it was!

11. Jazz Kitchen

Another amazing place to eat in Downtown Disney is the Jazz Kitchen. They have food from New Orleans here! I got a cup of gumbo (not picture because I ate it too quick!) and it was THE BEST! I also got a beignet cocktail which had vanilla flavors and vodka with a beignet on top. Finally, for dessert we had to get some beignets so we got the seasonal maple bacon ones and they were pretty good! My family enjoyed them more than me since I don’t really love bacon in sweets. The beignets are also available at the quick-service outside!

12. Black Tap

One of my other favorite eats in Downtown Disney is Black Tap which has your basic burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, wings, apps, salads and immaculent shakes. I got the Cali Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries. Then we got the CakeShake which is HUGE. It is cake batter icecream, sprinkles, icing, whip and a big slice of birthday cake ontop. It is enough to share among 4 people honestly! It is extremely sweet and probably the best dessert ever.

13. Pacific Wharf Cafe

In California Adventure, while there are not a lot of restaurants there are tons of delicious quick service places! Pacific Wharf is actually just a Boudin. You can get their famous clam chowder or other daily soup or you can get a secret menu item of mac and cheese in a bread bowl. Carbs on carbs with cheese…yes please!

14. Lucky Fortune Cookery

Another fun place to eat if you are craving Chinese food is the Lucky Fortune Cookery in the California Adventure park. BEWARE-there is no chow mein here, but there are TONS of other delicious items to try. These were so so yummy and super spicy! They are the pork wonton nachos. They are crispy wonton chips with spicy nacho cheese, jalapeños, pickled cabbage, pork and a spicy sriracha aioli.

15. Ghirardelli

Last but not least on my favorites list is visiting Ghirardelli at California Adventure! Even though you can go here outside of Disney, it is still such a great tradition to get this at night before a parade or World of Color. I love the Ocean Beach Sea Salt Caramel Sundae. It is always what I get and is filled with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, caramel sauce, sea salt, whipped cream and a sea salt caramel chocolate square.
