Chow Mein

Chow Mein is the STAPLE to all of your favorite Chinese entrees. This recipe is both simple and full of flavor. Serve it with some orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp and crab rangoons for an awesome dinner.

Chow Mein

If you have ever had Chinese takeout, you probably have had chow mein since it is a MUST with any Chinese entree. This recipe is simple to make at home and you save tons of money while doing so. Not to mention, it is a lot healthier than typical Chinese takeout.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz chow mein noodles
  • ½ cabbage chopped into thin strips
  • 1 yellow onion chopped Into thin strips
  • 6 stalks celery chopped
  • ¼ cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 3 tbsp minced garlic
  • ¼ cup oil for cooking
  • 4 tbsp oil for sauce

Instructions
 

  • Prep the mixture of soy sauce, oyster sauce, sriracha, minced garlic and 4 tbsp of oil all mixed together.
  • Soak noodles if needed and follow cooking directions on package.
  • Bring wok up to medium heat and add 1/4 cup of oil. Stir fry the veggies for about 15 minutes. Add noodles and add the sauce. Stir fry for about 15 minutes or until completely cooked.
